Donna brings experience, knowledge and passion to our Austin urology clinic

Donna Lee McBride is the Director of Business Development at NAU Urology Specialists and the co-host of the Armor Men’s Health Podcast with Dr. Mistry. Donna’s father, Don, was a medic in the Vietnam War and one of the country’s first Physician Assistants through the Air Force so she was surrounded by medicine while growing up in Lockhart, TX.

Donna worked in a medical clinic throughout college and graduated from Texas State University in San Marcos, TX, with a Bachelor of Arts degree, majoring in Mass Communications and minoring in Jazz Improv where she rocked the saxophone. She became a pharmaceutical sales representative afterward for many years before becoming a stay-home mother for a few more years. She then worked in the medical field in Austin, TX before landing at her happy place, NAU Urology Specialists in 2017.

In addition to having the skills and experience to help keep the practice and marketing efforts running smoothly, Donna also offers a healthy dose of humor, thanks to her background as a professional comedienne. Not only was Donna on Last Comic Standing semi-finals in Austin Season 3, but she was on Nick at Nite’s Search for the Funniest Mom in America Season 2. In fact, out of hundreds of funny moms who were also comics, she made it to the final top 10 and onto the reality show with “Host Mom,” Katie Segall, in New York City. Throughout her comedy career, Donna has worked with many famous comedians including Bill Engvall, DL Hughley, JoKoy and Carlos Mencia (just to name a few).

In her free time, Donna takes care of people, pets and plants

Donna’s hobbies include nagging her husband and worrying about her sons who are all in college. She has too many pets and potted plants and you’ll find her happily hiding from all of them at the clinic.
