
UTI Prevention Strategies
Probiotics
- Lactobacillus or acidophilus tablets (available in the vitamins section)
- Yogurt daily (Activia)
Natural barriers
- Whole cranberries (craisins)
- >50% cranberry juice, 4-8 oz nightly
- Cranberry tablets (usually 2 pills at lunch and 2 at bedtime)
Nutritional Supplements
- D-mannose – 120-150mg per day
Using a spray or squirt bottle with 1 tbsp white vinegar to 1 cup water, to rinse after using the bathroom. Spray the area, but do not insert. Wipe off when done.
