Meet Lauren Hagen, NC-BC, the nurse coach at our Austin urology practice
From a young age, Lauren Hagen, NC-BC, grew up around the medical field. Her father practiced medicine as a urologist in Columbus, Georgia, and he showed her how empowering it can be to help patients participate in their own care. She also learned how important it is to listen to each patient and get to know them as an individual.
In her role as a nurse coach at our Austin urology practice, she takes an individualized approach to patient care. She ensures each patient receives a personalized treatment plan and encourages them to take an active role in their health and wellness.

Lauren attended The University of Notre Dame where she obtained her Bachelor of Science in political science with a minor in peace studies. However, she quickly realized she was meant to be a nurse. As a result, she obtained a master’s degree in nursing from UT Austin’s Alternate Entry Program.
She began practicing as an RN in 2005. Since then, she has practiced nursing in urology, critical care, obstetrics and gynecology, and school nursing. She also has proudly been a doula supporting couples through pregnancy, birth and postpartum.
In 2021, moved by her belief in people’s power to create their own health, Lauren began pursuing certification as a nurse coach. Today, she applies her training as a nurse coach at our Austin urology practice.
Lauren Hagen uses her role to have powerful conversations with her patients that consist of motivational interviewing and deep listening. She then partners with patients to support them as they make sustainable, satisfying lifestyle changes to become their true and best selves.

When Lauren isn’t working, she is spending time with her family. She and her three children, Veda, Bear and Zev, like to go hiking and camping in their teardrop trailer.
